The Amazing Captain Fit:
Wallie Exercises by Steve Ettinger and illustrated by Pete Proctor
Wallie is a great dog, but he has gotten too lazy and overweight. His boy takes him on an adventure to get fit. They meet an elephant, who teaches Wallie how to exercise and still have fun.
Stretch by Doreen Cronin and Scott Menchin.
In this book, a cute dog teaches us many different and interesting stretches. By following along with this puppy dog, we will stretch our muscles and become more limber.
From Head to Toe by Eric Carle
Animals need to exercise, too. This book shows us how animals get fit. Follow along with them, and you will get fit, too.
The kids will learn that exercise can be fun. They will stretch and move along with the animals featured in the above stories. Then, the librarian will lead them in a series of imaginary sports, like rock climbing, swimming, and baseball. Last, the kids will dance to Alvin & the Chipmunks.
